Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them" Psalm 127:3-5.

Our Journey

Alexandra is our fourth child. She had a special relationship with everyone in our house. Even though there are a lot of different personalities and interests in our household, Alex was able to relate and bond with all of us. She loved anything and everything that had to do with the movie Frozen. Every night, after getting her pajamas on, Alex would walk out and ask, “Daddy, will you pray?” She loved Jesus.

Losing our daughter made me question who was God. Where was He? Why would He allow this to happen? We had to figure out what we truly believed.

Over time, Psalm 127:3–5 became a verse that kept being highlighted to us over and over again. Arrows are discussed in the verse and became a symbol to us. Our daughter is in Heaven, but God’s purpose for her is not over. We pray that we will be able to walk alongside those who have lost children and help them see the hope Jesus gives us for eternity.

Where It All Began

After the sudden loss of Alex, God had a community rally around us to bring meals, financial and emotional support and an outpouring of love. God led us to start Alexandra’s Arrow to be an extension of His hands and His love for others during a time of tragedy.  Alex always expressed her love for God, family and friends, and gymnastics – that is our focus.  Although she is heaven, God will continue to use her arrow to have an impact on lives.
